NPS Calculator — Answer & Method
Estimate NPS (National Pension System, India) retirement corpus, tax-free lump sum, and monthly pension based on age and monthly contributions.
Formula: NPS Corpus (Monthly SIP Future Value)
FV = Contribution × [((1+r)^n − 1)/r] × (1+r)
Example Calculation
₹5,000/month from age 30 to 60 at 10% annual return grows to approximately ₹1.14 crore; 60% (≈₹68.4L) is a tax-free lump sum.
Important limitation
This is an estimate based on your inputs, not financial, lending, tax, or investment advice.
Key Facts
- NPS allows an additional ₹50,000 deduction under Section 80CCD(1B), separate from the ₹1.5 lakh 80C limit.
- At maturity, 60% of the NPS corpus is withdrawn tax-free; the remaining 40% must purchase an annuity, and annuity income is taxable.
- Employer NPS contributions under Section 80CCD(2) are deductible in both the new and old tax regimes.
